Lowe Hotel

If you want a creepy experience, then you will love this place. If you want a nice hotel, it is not. Rooms are disgusting, spider webs in the corners, dead bugs in the windows. Someone from past stays had shaved in the shower and it was still there. Along with that, we only had 1 remote for the TV, but not the one that handled the cable box, so it was useless. You can have a cool old hotel well also having nice rooms. Just felt like minimal effort is put into this place. Feel like they just try to capitalize on it being haunted and focus less on a hotel experience.

This place, while beautiful on the surface, is a disaster waiting to happen. If Mothman IS a harbinger of disaster this would be a target. Plumbing & electrical issues are atrocious. The downstairs restroom's ceiling is falling in, but your attention is diverted with dozens of fancy soap dispensers. The lady proprietor is a gem, too. I paid nearly $200 CASH & she insults my 14 yo grandson about a "$300" key if he lost it. She wanted to know if I come & go a lot at night. Am I a vampire or just a vamp? We had to switch rooms from a suite to a regular room because the fridge didn't work. Maybe because 8 things were plugged into the only plug in the room & I'm on meds that require it. I did NOT get a refund on the room.though. "This is strictly a NONSMOKING hotel." OK, what built WV? Coal & tobacco. So back off lady, I don'tsmoke in my house or even my car. As we were leaving "I'm sure you won't let your suitcase thump down the steps." There's more about a pop tart - likely the 1st of it's kind, by the taste according to my grandson. But I'll stop here. In the Southern vernacular "Bless her little heart". The place also has fleas. Do NOT stay here, unless you're an extremist. The shower was OK at least & the beds were fine.

A WARNING FOR ANYBODY CLOSE TO THE HOTEL (And by close I mean within a 50 mile radius) They DO NOT allow locals to book rooms at the hotel. Don't know if it's because they're prejudice or what. I live in the Ashton area of Mercers Bottom. Told me "I live too close". All I wanted to do was stay there for ONE night during the festival because I planned on getting a bit tipsy and didn't wanna drive home. They stopped me at the lobby, were extremely rude in asking me where I live. Once I told them they said that I had to leave because "We don't want locals here". I asked them how far away is 'local' to them and they said within 50 miles. Sorry but I will not remove this review until they let me stay there.
